Treasure Chest of the Province's Glory
Every year, at the end of January, the Kannawidan Festival is celebrated. This celebrates the best of Ilocos Sur culture, from traditional dress and folk dance to tribal rituals and their town's products.

As the years go by, the celebration of the Kannawidan festival gets modified. But despite these modifications, people believe that the festival still gives the knowledge people should know about the province and the fun and joy of the different activities being held. In joining the different contests, walking through the exhibits and stalls or by just watching, we are already doing our part to preserve our culture. We are still engaging ourselves to the Iloko culture and that is just amazing. Seeing people come as one during the festival gives us all a reason to celebrate not just the separating of our province but also the unity of the Ilocanos as they celebrate and witness the treasure chest of traditions and cultures.

The province of Ilocos Sur is a wonderful place. I hope everyone would give our province what it truly deserves. Come one, come all! And let's celebrate the Kannawidan Ilocos Festival, Sure Ilocos Sur!
